The ASUS ZenFone Selfie was unveiled a couple of days ago at the Computex event in Taiwan. While it's a relatively untapped market segment, we know that selfie phones have been around for quite some time now. So we decided to see how the ASUS offering fares when compared with the HTC Desire Eye from last year and the recently unveiled Xperia C4 handset.

As we can see above, all three smartphones are neck-and-neck as far as hardware specs are concerned. The Desire Eye might have a better pixel density with its display owing to the smaller size. But barring that, all smartphones are evenly matched with regards to internal hardware.

The Xperia C4 is at a disadvantage as it only has a 5MP front camera while the other two sport massive 13MP sensors on the front. The Sony offering also offers a single LED flash whereas the Desire Eye and the ZenFone Selfie come with dual tone LED flashes on the front.

We're guessing Sony will adjust the pricing to make up for these lapses, so this should not be a concern. There are no pricing details available for the Xperia C4 or the ZenFone Selfie at the moment. The Desire Eye with a pricing of under Rs. 35,000 hasn't made a lot of noise in the market, so it's clear that pricing will be crucial for such niche devices.
