Facebook users share a lot of images on a daily basis. It's often a problem for users as to which images get stored where, even more so if you're sharing pictures of your child.
That will change today as Facebook is rolling out a new Scrapbook feature to the web, Android and iOS versions which will let you create a separate photo album, which is away from the clutter of the day-to-day photos. Facebook mentions that this feature is rolling out in the U.S. immediately, with no word on whether global users will be able to access it right away.
You can add a tag or a name to this scrapbook, which could be the child's nickname or initials and tag photos using that. You can share control of the scrapbook with your partner and only the two will be able to tag pictures which means your friends or family will not be able to tag photos of your child.
Facebook explains the functioning of this feature:
· You can opt to co-own the scrapbook with a partner who you're in a relationship with on Facebook.
· You choose what you call the tag—it could be your child's name, initials or something fun.
· You and your partner choose which photos to tag.
· Only you and your partner can tag your child in photos.
· We've built in lots of reminders and tips to guide you along the way
Getting started with this feature is pretty easy and all you will have to do is go to your profile, head over to About and tap Family and Relationships. Here, there will be a prompt/invitation for you to try out Scrapbook, which will guide you through the whole process.
If you have already created a profile for your child, you will find the "Add Scrapbook" option right next to the child's name.
