With Google going all out for April Fool's Day with a long list of elaborate pranks, companies like Sony and Microsoft aren't far behind.
Sony's prank for today is an app for the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact smartphones that can let you transfer the battery of your smartphone to those in need of a battery refill. It sounds pretty convincing at first, but that's the nature of all April Fool's pranks held by these companies.
Microsoft's prank is more elaborate as it involves the launch of a new fictional OS. But instead of Windows Phone, this device is running MS-DOS by default. Here are the list of commands that you can use on this MS-DOS phone:
· COLOR: alter the MS-DOS appearance with a variety of colors
· DATE: display the date in case you forgot it's April Fools' Day
· VER: shows the current MS-DOS version
· FORMAT: Use format c: and Cortana will save the day
· WIN: launch Windows 3.1
This is an app that can be downloaded from the Windows Phone Store. The company has put in a lot of thought into this prank and is easily one of the best we've come across so far (after Google Panda, of course).
Samsung hasn't been left out from the pranks either as it revealed a new phone called the Galaxy Blade Edge edition, letting you chop stuff while providing the utility of a smartphone.
